@theland is a 3 acre plot of land in the heart of England, Meriden. It was purchased with the intention of keeping horses and has since grown into a diverse piece of land that is home to horses, pigs, chickens and bees. We encourage the natural habitats of the animals that live here and love to share this unique place with others.

We specialise in one-to-one experiences and educational programmes where we offer the chance to get up close and learn about our horses, pigs, hens and bees. Our animals all have a story to tell, where they have came from, to the life they now live. The team @theland are dedicated to educating adults and children about the animals and we ensure we maintain the highest of welfare standards. Our team members individually have over 25 years of experience in animal care with a wide variety of skills and knowledge. You are sure to learn something new every time you visit.

We aim to provide an insight into the skills and knowledge needed to look after a range of animals and invite you to bring your sense of adventure and appreciation for the great outdoors.

Our Team consists of...

Laura who is the manager and owner of the land. A qualified teacher who has 15 years experience in secondary education and has cared for animals for over 25 years. Herself and her son are neurodivergent and love spending time at the land.

Marie who is a qualified and registered mental health nurse with 6 years experience and previously specialised in autism and neurodevelopment. Herself and her 2 sons are neurodivergent and are a home educated family.

Ruth is a former primary school teacher with specialism in English and SEND. Ruth has ADHD and since leaving teaching she has worked with neurodivergent and disabled children both in and out of the home education system as a private tutor for the last 8 years. She now home-educates her own ND son and continues to advocate for parent and children’s entitlements and rights within the mainstream education system in the hope of sparking change and changing the lives of all children.
